Summary/Abstract

This testimony before the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Environment and Climate Change on “Clearing the Air: Legislation to Promote Carbon Capture, Utilization and Storage” argues that the USEIT Act is primarily designed to streamline the permitting of enhanced oil production infrastructure and that the legislation does not provide any guardrails to ensure it will not lead to decades of increased oil production.
