Summary/Abstract

This study used an online questionnaire to survey the emerging global community of marine–climate intervention practitioners. The goal of the study is to provide an empirical investigation into how to understand and resolve the pacing problem between marine governance and climate intervention technology. The study found that most practitioners (71%) report interventions aimed at supporting marine species and ecosystem adaptation, while 29% report interventions aimed at climate mitigation and societal adaptation. It identified a number of policy recommendations on climate interventions.
