Summary/Abstract
This strategy sets out new ways to implement existing legislation more effectively, new commitments, measures, targets and governance mechanisms to protect nature and reverse the degradation of ecosystems in the European Union. Included in the strategy is a proposal to plan 3 billion additional trees in the EU by 2030 that will increase carbon sequestration.
