Summary/Abstract

This report surveys the implications of the Paris Agreement for carbon dioxide removal  (CDR). While the UNFCCC has recognized and promoted some forms of CDR since its inception, in particular afforestation and reforestation under the CDM, the Paris Agreement marks a major upgrade in the role envisioned for CDR technologies in climate policy.
