Summary/Abstract

The Department of Energy (DOE) sponsored a technical workshop in April 2016 in Washington, D.C., to identify and promote best practices for siting and regulating CO2 infrastructure (pipelines, EOR, and other geologic CO2 storage sites). The purpose of the workshop was to foster communication, coordination, and sharing of lessons learned and best practices among states and entities that are involved in siting and regulating CO2 infrastructure, or that may have CO2 infrastructure projects within their borders in the future. This report documents the workshop and highlights key themes raised by the participants.

*This report was prepared for the Office of Energy Policy and Systems Analysis and the Office of Fossil Energy at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
