Summary/Abstract
This white paper, commissioned by the Great Plains Institute, presents the results of a two-year modeling effort to identify such regional scale CO2 transport infrastructure that would serve existing facilities and allow participation by new capture projects and facilities in the future. This analysis identified the most feasible near- and medium-term opportunities for deployment of carbon capture equipment at individual emitting facilities and focused on the Western, Midwestern, Plains, and Gulf regions of the US. The analysis also identified 1,517 45Q-tax credit eligible facilities across the United States that emit a total of 2,352 million metric tons of CO2 annually.
